Bethesda wants Starfield to be part of its “big three,” the third piece of the studio’s RPG identity, up there with The Elder Scrolls and Fallout. It’s a noble aim – a studio primarily known as the beloved steward of other peoples’ IP finally getting the chance to hold up its own work alongside those iconic games. But no matter what you might think of Starfield, unless something changes dramatically at Bethesda, that aim feels like a pipe dream. In an interview last week, Starfield design director Emil Pagliarulo told GamesRadar+ that the studio’s public perception has changed over time. “Bethesda used to feel like the studio of Elder Scrolls,” he explained, pointing to a time when its only output was Morrowind and Oblivion (and a largely-forgotten drag racing game). After the release of Fallout 3, it started to become “the studio you’d associate with Elder Scrolls and Fallout.” That remained true for 15 years, until 2023 completed “Bethesda Game Studios’ Big Three” with Starfield.Pagliarulo’s being pretty clear – Starfield is not a one-and-done project, but something that will remain in Bethesda’s RPG rotation. Unfortunately, there are two things standing in the way of that lofty a…

Original RuneScape creator Andrew Gower will make his return to MMOs with Brighter Shores, a new game now confirmed to be launching in Steam early access on November 6 following a closed beta that starts October 22. The base game will be free, with a premium pass available for purchase. Brighter Shores has more than a bit of RuneScape in it – rather, both games have a lot of Gower in them – right down to the isometric perspective, life skills like fishing and woodcutting, and a generally freewheeling adventure vibe. You start as a humble guard in the town of Hopeport in the fantasy world of Adothria, and soon break into the wider world. For his new game, Gower leaned into a tabletop RPG aesthetic with point-and-click interactions, and moved away from tick-based mechanics, giving Brighter Shores a smoother look. It also features more MMO-like combat classes than the likes of Old School RuneScape: Cryoknight, Guardian, and Hammermage. When Gower first revealed the game earlier this year, it was billed as an anti-grind MMO that stands opposed to “the onslaught of microtransactions in modern MMOs.” A press release revealing the release date again specifies “No mic…

LittleBigPlanet 3 and all its paid downloadable content is being delisted later this year, publisher PlayStation Studios has announced.”After 10 years of playing, creating and sharing content in LittleBigPlanet 3, the game and our entire range of LittleBigPlanet DLC will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31 2024,” the series’ social media account tweeted yesterday. “Anyone that currently owns or purchases LittleBigPlanet 3 or any DLC before it is delisted for sale will still be able to access their purchased games and content after its removal.””This is a friendly heads-up that if anyone in the community or any newcomers still wish to own a digital copy of LittleBigPlanet 3 or any LittleBigPlanet DLC currently available for purchase – this is your last chance to do so!” Sackboy’s side-scrolling adventures and the lovely community creations that have made up LittleBigPlanet’s fabric have gone through a tough time as of late. All LittleBigPlanet servers went offline back in 2021 after hacks and unsavoury player-made content invaded the games – though, the PS4 threequel made a comeback later that same year.LittleBigPlanet 3 then served as the only way for players t…

Some cheeky mods are clearing Silent Hill 2 Remake’s signature fog. What originally began as a technical limitation on the OG PlayStation turned into an instantly iconic artistic choice as Silent Hill’s oppressive, sometimes blinding fog is almost as recognizably ‘Silent Hill’ as Pyramid Head, bless his pointy heart. Was that groaning sound the wind or the growl of a nearby monster? Was that a shadow in the distance or the concrete floor blurred by nature? Every new step you take in Silent Hill is a step into the terrifying unknown, but modders have already pacified the remake. Two NexusMods mods called Sunny Hills and Silent Hill 2 HD Collection have made the spooky town fogless, revealing what looks like a standard UK high street hiding underneath – truly the stuff of nightmares. The latter cheekily pokes fun at Konami’s other re-release, as its description says the mod “makes the game more faithful to the HD collection,” which also came under fire for lifting the fog effect. (Thanks, PC Gamer.)Online screenshots of the fogless town haven’t revealed anything too unexpected yet, expect for the fact that Bloober Team’s remake is shockingly detailed beneath all that murkiness. Fans have been waiting a very long time for a new Budokai Tenkaichi game, and while Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero goes back to the subseries’ original Japanese name, it absolutely seems to be the follow-up everyone’s been dreaming of. It’s not even technically out yet, but it’s already managed the biggest Steam launch in Dragon Ball history.Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is currently out in early access, exclusively available to people who’ve spent $100 on the Deluxe Edition or $110 on the Ultimate Edition. It seems players are more than willing to pay that price, however. The game has debuted on Steam to a peak concurrent player count of 91,005, as SteamDB shows. That’s by far the biggest launch a Dragon Ball game has ever had on Steam, up from the Dragon Ball FighterZ peak of 44,303 at its launch back in 2018. Sparking Zero has similarly outclassed the concurrent player records set by more traditional fighting games like Tekken 8 (49,977) and Street Fighter 6 (70,573), and it’s managed to become the biggest licensed anime game in Steam history, too.Our Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero review calls it “the pinnacle of fanservice,” and it’s clearly met its audience. It’s also been kicking the cr…

Diablo 4 Angelbreath is a rare crafting material that’s highly sought after, as it is an essential ingredient when it comes to improving certain potions and elixirs. If you don’t have a ready supply of this herb, you won’t be able to further upgrade your healing potion once you get to Level 30 and above, and that will definitely make progress in Diablo 4 harder once you start to face off against much tougher enemies. To help you avoid that particular roadblock, here are the different ways you can find and farm Angelbreath in Diablo 4.How to find Angelbreath in Diablo 4 More Diablo 4 guidesDiablo 4 Realmwalkers

Diablo 4 PetsOne of the main ways to find Angelbreath in Diablo 4 is to simply ride your mount around Sanctuary looking for it, as it generally grows as a herb in much the same way as Diablo 4 Gallowvine, Howler Moss, another other plants you can harvest. However, you can make this process much easier for yourself by unlocking and hiring Subo, one of the new Diablo 4 Mercenaries, as your main partner.
