Upcoming Marvel Games

There are loads of upcoming Marvel games on the horizon and we’re psyched for every single one. Last year saw the release of the much-anticipated spidey sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but there are plenty of new Marvel projects in the works from myriad top developers that will put some major Marvel characters in the spotlight. We’re talking Wolverine, Blade, Iron Man, and a WW2-era Marvel game from Skydance New Media that sees Captain America teaming up with Black Panther. As if they weren’t cool enough on their own.Now that it’s finally got a name, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is set to join the legions of stellar Marvel games that have launched in years past, from digital card collector Marvel Snap to the story-driven likes of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and loads of others. Rise of Hydra will be in good company, too; as seen from the unfortunate Insomniac leak that spilled the Spider-Man studio’s future release schedule, plans for new games are not in short supply. For now, though, we’ll be sticking to the official information and announcements as given by developers to bring you a look at…

The Silent Hill 2 Remake motel safe code and combination are nearby in one of the motel rooms, with a puzzle you need to solve. In fact, the code itself is an Easter egg, though not one specific to Silent Hill by any means… without spoiling, it’s not going to be much of a shock to the system when you guess what it is. But that’s besides the point; if you want to know the motel safe code for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, we’ve got the combination and a solution to the attached puzzle below.Silent Hill 2 Remake motel safe code location The motel safe code in Silent Hill 2 is 0451, a reference to the recurring safe code number that appears in numerous video games but generally began in the System Shock. Smash through the window and climb in, then squeeze through the gap in the wall to find a table with tools and the Toolbox Memo. That’s th…

Metaphor: ReFantazio’s director has admitted that he’s not really interested or excited by any games that “look like they were designed by a bunch of people in a CEO boardroom,” which is perhaps to be expected from the mastermind behind so many distinctive JRPGs.Katsura Hashino has been at Atlus for around 30 years, and his latest director’s credit on the fantasy JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio is one of many. He was previously at the helm for Persona 3, 4, and 5, the puzzle game Catherine, and more. Speaking in a new interview with IGN, he’s spoken a little more about what games motivate and inspire him to keep developing new things himself, and it sounds like he has a great deal of admiration for fellow creatives.”I feel like if you have these super highly polished games that look like they were designed by a bunch of people in a CEO boardroom, that doesn’t really excite me – it doesn’t really interest me,” Hashino explains. “But when I see these sorts of games [which reveal a little about the people that made them], it really fills me with the motivation to keep developing.” He adds that seeing artists and creatives “had something they really wanted to say” is ultimately “w…

Hideo Kojima’s OD remains a mystery. Unveiled in 2023, the Metal Gear creator says he wants to “explore the concept of testing your fear threshold, and what it means to overdose on fear” – which, you know, is a lot. But still I’m excited to learn more, particularly as this is the first time Kojima has taken a swing at outright horror since the demise of his Silent Hills initiative with Konami. OD – or Overdose, as it’s being called – is in development at Kojima Productions, made in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios. The upcoming horror game doesn’t have a release date just yet, but with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach set to launch in 2025, I can only hope that Kojima will turn his full attention to this new Xbox exclusive soon enough. So you’ll want to keep on reading to discover everything we know so far about this wildly ambitious new Xbox Series X game, from the way its leveraging Xbox Cloud Gaming to how the use of Unreal Engine 5 will deliver scares like you’ve never seen before. OD (Overdose) gameplay experience At least when creative director Hideo Kojima was working on Metal Gear Solid games, you sort of knew what you were getting &ndas…

Activision Blizzard is reportedly trying to bring Overwatch Mobile to your phone screens. That’s according to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier in his new book Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, in which he interviews over 300 developers from across the company’s history on everything from its fabled cancellations to the turmoil that followed it at every step.Despite being a massive breakout hit and launching a short-lived hero shooter craze, Overwatch has never really been able to capitalize on its viral characters outside of the main game’s offerings. The Overwatch 2 team scrapped its promised PvE campaign that pretty much justified the sequel’s revamp, and a Netflix Overwatch series was also canned after a legal fallout. But Blizzard Entertainment apparently still has plans to expand the franchise. “Overwatch was led by Walter Kong, who oversaw the release of regular heroes and content for Overwatch 2, as well as new projects like a mobile version of the franchise,” Schreier writes. (Thanks, Dexerto.) There’s no word on how far along the mobile version might be, whether it’s a straight-up port or a new take on the series, or if it’s even still in develo…

Kingdom Hearts 4 is still in development at Square Enix, but the publisher has been exceptionally quiet for a few years now. Perhaps that should come as no surprise though, with this ambitious undertaking aiming to offer a soft-reset of the universe all while it builds on the strong foundations laid out by Kingdom Hearts 3. With Square Enix recently getting two Final Fantasy games out the door, however, we can only hope that we’ll start to see more of the new Kingdom Hearts game soon. The Kingdom Hearts series has delivered some of the best RPGs over multiple console generations, so expectations are running high for this one. The game was unveiled during the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event in April 2022 and we’ve been keeping a close eye out for more more Kingdom Hearts 4 news ever since. So while you wait, let’s get you up to speed on everything we know so far about the game.Kingdom Hearts 4 release date speculation Square Enix is yet to confirm a Kingdom Hearts 4 release date. The game was said to be in early development back in 2022, but the publisher has offered precious few updates since then. So few, in fact that Goofy’s English voice actor didn’t realize it had e…

For all the successful strides that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom made in reinventing The Legend of Zelda’s tried and true formula, eschewing the franchise’s more linear progression in favor of a thrilling amount of player freedom, the widespread rejection of every franchise convention wasn’t necessarily all for the better. Depending on who you ask, the recent duology is either a brilliant recontextualization of Zelda’s defined tropes, or a total gutting and replacement of what originally made the series appealing (with key iconography and terminologies being carried over). While I’ve personally been excited to see Nintendo follow its new vision for the series with total confidence, the recently released, smaller-scale The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has managed to strike a more idyllic and delicate balance between old and new, capturing the strengths of both the classic and modern Zelda titles in a way that I feel could be hugely beneficial for the series moving forward.A link between past and present  So, what exactly is the distinction between these two different eras of The Legend of Zelda? Since the series’ 1986 debu…

It’s been discovered that you can dish out over two billion damage to a poor, unsuspecting Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet in one ridiculously powerful hit, assuming you have the patience to sit through the 164 turns of setup required to pull it off.Pokemon professor King The Luck – the same person who previously calculated how much you can possibly heal a Pokemon in a single turn – has been at it again, and has now worked out the perfect way to ensure you definitely knock out an opponent in a single hit. It all revolves around the move Last Respects – a unique Ghost-type attack which starts with a base power of 50, but is increased by 50 each time one of your Pokemon gets knocked out in a battle. For some reason, this doesn’t cap until 100 Pokemon are KO’d, so without healing items, you can use the move Revival Blessing repeatedly to bring back a fainted Pokemon and knock it out again until you’ve eventually charged Last Respects to a whopping base power of 5,050. Getting to this point is just the beginning, though, as you also have to ensure your Pokemon is as powerful as it possibly can be, and that its opponent is as weak as possible, which is where things …
