The Silent Hill 2 Remake Moth puzzle sees you working out a lock code in Apartment 202, where the combination involves numerous moths pinned to boards, and some sums on the wall with various symbols in place of numbers. One of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero’s early story mode fights has been kicking players’ asses ever since the early access period went live, to the point that the game’s publisher is now gently offering a bit of advice – even if fans are refusing to take it.The fight in question is against Great Ape Vegeta, who offers a battle so tough that fans have succinctly called it “some BS” (and that’s just one place where players are having trouble, as the entire game’s difficulty has been called “fucking absurd”). Mere hours into early access, game publisher Bandai Namco weighed in on Twitter, memeing that “this monke got hands,” but not long after, it appears to be offering struggling fans a way out. “A win is a win,” the publisher says, sharing a gif of the menacing foe. “Lower Difficulty and Retry.”A win is a win. Lower Difficulty and Retry ◀️ pic.twitter.com/klr55NWD2YOctober 8, 2024It’s a valid suggestion, but not one that Sparking Zero’s fanbase is actually listening to. “Absolutely NOT,” one player replies, while another says: “My Saiyan pride won’t let me.” Another agrees: “My Saiyan Pride told me to LOCK THE HECK IN.”So, yeah, it looks like most players are co…

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom features an eye-opening glitch that lets you teleport to the game’s final boss, allowing speedrunners to beat the whole adventure in under an hour.
The exploit, which warps protagonist Zelda to Echoes of Wisdom’s final dungeon, skips the vast majority of the new Nintendo Switch game.
Inevitably, Zelda’s speedrunning community has seized on the glitch to massively boost completition times – though it is unclear how long the exploit will stick around.
“It’s now possible to [warp] from after you beat the first dungeon to the final dungeon (although it softlocks),” reddit user xIceblue wrote, on a post which shows the exploit’s method in detail.
“So we found a way to [warp] to right before, fight the boss there, and proceed into the final area. That flag apparently removes the softlock, and allows us to beat the game with four hearts.”
Footage posted by xIceblue, embedded below, shows the game’s Echo ability being manipulated using a method that involves dropping signposts on top of trees, until multiple menus overlap on top of one another. This is clearly not intended behaviour. From here, users can open up…

Earlier this year, developers for the Apple Arcade aired their grievances with the tech giant. Now, another report from MobileGamer shows the relationship has become further strained. Some of the complaints from sources build on what was previously discussed in February. Developers are now waiting up to six months to get paid, go weeks without communication from Apple, and eventual talks can be "disappointing."One source alleged meetings often have half of Apple's team missing, and those that are there "have no idea what’s going on and can’t answer our questions. Either they don't have knowledge, or can't speak because of confidentiality reasons."Other concerns raised in the report were brand new. Many surrounded the Apple Vision Pro; a developer claimed Apple's engineering support didn't know how the headset worked, making game development for it even more difficult.Another described the process as "going back in time 10 years. Despite the advertsed power and cost, it's not a machine built for games. Getting any complex games working on the platform is difficult."

Yanis Varoufakis, an economist who previously worked at Valve and served in Greece's Hellenic Parliament, believes tech companies—including those who operate game platforms like Apple and Google—should be taxed for how they run game platforms and control product choice. In an interview with Aftermath about his book Technofeudalism: What Killed Capitalism, Varoufakis explained how tech platforms like Apple and Amazon have become "algorithm-powered fiefdoms," driving the titular "technofeudalism" he wrote about. Those companies (and possibly his former employer) have "extracted" people out of the market to replace it with one that greatly benefits them. He refers to the value these companies pull out of the market as "cloud capital"As he explains it, the government could (and should) have these corporations put 30 percent of shares into a commonwealth fund in what he calls a "cloud tax." That fund could then be evenly distributed to the public as a form of basic income.Varoufakis doesn't call Valve out by name (it's a smaller company operating in a relatively smaller market), but his arguments echo ones we've hea…
Nintendo reported a downturn in both net sales and operating profit over the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The company saw net sales decrease by 46.5 percent year-on-year to 246.6 billion yen ($1.68 billion), while operating profit decreased by 70.6 percent to 54.5 billion yen ($371.6 million). Profit attributable to owners of parent fell by 55.3 percent to 80.9 billion yen ($551.6 million). There are some predictable—but nonetheless interesting—reasons for that downturn. For starters, the Nintendo Switch is more than eight years old and that means hardware sales are dwindling. As it stands, the Switch family has sold 143.42 million units worldwide. It's an eye-watering metric that means it's hardly surprising to hear quarterly hardware sales declined by 46.3 percent year-on-year to 2.1 million units. Despite that downturn, Nintendo claimed sales are relatively stable compared to the last quarter.
