A genius Baldur’s Gate 3 player has managed to mod all of the RPG’s Origin characters into Tekken 8, and it’s downright awesome.Speaking in a recent Reddit post, a user who goes by “Doctor_Sauce_” reveals footage of their modded Tekken 8 fighters – the Baldur’s Gate 3 companions. First up in the clip is Lae’zel, who takes on Kazuya Mishima in hand-to-hand combat. It’s almost too perfect – as one fan’s comment reads, “Lae’zel would likely love Tekken, too.” Another jokes that “Lae’zel is the person who has learned all of the combos and tries to fight with skill.”I modded every BG3 Origin character into Tekken 8 from r/BaldursGate3Next up, Doctor Sauce’s video shows Gale fighting Karlach, Astarion walloping Gale, Wyll taking Lae’zel on, and more. My personal highlight is seeing Shadowheart absolutely destroy Gale as a Jun Kazama reskin – and I’m not the only one, either. “Jun for Shadowheart because her attacks look like they do holy damage was clever,” writes a commenter. “Shadowheart as Jun seems surprisingly fitting,” admits another. The idea of Baldur’s Gate 3 characters as Tekken 8 fighters is made even more brilliant by an old Dungeons & Dragons trope &ndas…

Minecraft has so many niche communities built around the game’s infinite blocky possibilities, you might not be aware that Minecraft parkour is even a thing – let alone a thing that’s gone viral across TikTok and is now inspiring other indie games.Building Relationships is the zany adventure game that we previously reported is “like A Short Hike but stupid” thanks to the fact that it literally stars sentient buildings looking to date each other. You roll around as a normal house, exploring different biomes, fishing, courting apartments and windmills and other such erections. It’s essentially a wide open dating sim that revels in wholesome kinkiness. But Building Relationships creator Tanat Boozayaangool has now revealed an extra layer to the game: Minecraft parkour-inspired platforming. Minecraft parkour is a game mode that has players hoping from block to block in obstacle courses that are probably a massive headache for whoever has the controller in their hand, even though it’s quite a zen, tranquil watch for any TikTokers looking to make 10 seconds fly by faster”I may have gotten too into Minecraft parkour civilization and added platforming challenges to my game,” Boozayaangool t…

5. FAQTabletop gaming isn’t the cheapest hobby, so board game deals are essential if you want to expand your collection without breaking the bank. To save you time as well as money, the GamesRadar+ team and I have rounded up the most tempting discounts of the month here.A reduction that immediately caught my eye was for the new Undaunted (Unfaunted 2200: Callisto), for example. The highly-anticipated wargame is now $59.99 at Miniature Market instead of $85, and from what I can tell, that’s a record low price. Although the UK equivalent isn’t quite as cheap (it’s been a couple of quid less before now), you can still get it for a very reasonable £48.34 at Amazon rather than the RRP of £65.That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Alongside these price-cuts, I’ve also included some hints and tips further down the page to help you take advantage of any savings. What makes a good board game deal, and what should you look out for? Is it better to wait until the end-of-year sales, or events like Black Friday? Our team’s been …

Kingdom Hearts 4 is still in development at Square Enix, but the publisher has been exceptionally quiet for a few years now. Perhaps that should come as no surprise though, with this ambitious undertaking aiming to offer a soft-reset of the universe all while it builds on the strong foundations laid out by Kingdom Hearts 3. With Square Enix recently getting two Final Fantasy games out the door, however, we can only hope that we’ll start to see more of the new Kingdom Hearts game soon. The Kingdom Hearts series has delivered some of the best RPGs over multiple console generations, so expectations are running high for this one. The game was unveiled during the Kingdom Hearts 20th Anniversary event in April 2022 and we’ve been keeping a close eye out for more more Kingdom Hearts 4 news ever since. So while you wait, let’s get you up to speed on everything we know so far about the game.Kingdom Hearts 4 release date speculation Square Enix is yet to confirm a Kingdom Hearts 4 release date. The game was said to be in early development back in 2022, but the publisher has offered precious few updates since then. So few, in fact that Goofy’s English voice actor didn’t realize it had e…

Star Wars Eclipse is still in development at Quantic Dream, although it’s been a while since the studio delivered any firm updates. The developer, best known for Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, has been hard at work on this adventure for years now – having announced Eclipse back in 2021. Given what we know of it already though, Star Wars Eclipse is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated upcoming Star Wars games out there. Built to leverage choice and consequence in a vast High Republic era world, we’re keen to learn more, When I spoke to Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière in 2023, I tried my best Jedi Mind Trick to squeeze out some more info but all I was able to discover is that the project is “a different game than anything we’ve done before.” While we wait for more Star Wars Eclipse news, keep on reading to find everything we know about it so far. Star Wars Eclipse release date speculation While described as in “early development” at the Game Awards, reports emerged towards the end of 2021 that suggested Star Wars Eclipse was apparently at least three to four years away from launch. Quantic Dream went on to respond to the reports to reaffir…

No hero should have to work alone. Batman trained Robin, Bill and Ted changed history, and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, well, let’s just say they went on their own terms. In video games, the most iconic duo is easily Mario and Luigi. Since 2003, Nintendo’s flagship brothers have headlined Mario & Luigi, a spin-off of the iconic Super Mario franchise that places equal emphasis on Mario and Luigi as a team; the cornerstone of this philosophy is how all critical button inputs boil down to the A and B buttons which correspond to Mario and Luigi respectively. The siblings have been enjoying a well-earned vacation for the last decade (since Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam on 3DS), but we caught up with the pair to go hands-on with their latest, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, on the increasingly aging Nintendo Switch. After an hour in their company, it’s clear that there’s little in the way of mechanical innovation in this successor. Yet, the little things, the dressings and accoutrements to this mushroom dish, have left me thinking about it for days. They’re enough to justify this brotherly reunion entirely.Setting sail Mario & Luigi find themselves on Concordia, a col…

The survival horror renaissance is alive and well in 2024, and the latest proof is the fact that Alien: Isolation 2 is currently in “early development”. Creative Assembly’s modern cult classic is still a terrifying force to be reckoned with, its heart-pounding concoction of claustrophobic cat-and-mouse in an abandoned spacecraft proving prime nightmare fodder even a decade on. If the original Dead Space (and System Shock, to an extent) set the scene for deep space horror to take off, Alien: Isolation took those blueprints and bolted with them. With the current trends leaning toward remake upon remake of the best survival horror games of yore, though, it’s a relief that Creative Assembly is doing something different. Instead of rebuilding the 2014 original, fans are to be treated to a full-blown Alien: Isolation sequel – and hot on the heels of this summer’s box office hit Alien: Romulus, the announcement couldn’t have been timed better. There’s not much else to go on just yet, but the raucously positive response from the horror community indicates to me that the genre might not be as stuck in the past as I’d feared. Ellen Ripley’s believe it or notThe belly of the beasts …

Video game hardware spending in the US was down 40 percent in May compared to 2023, numbers company Circana reports.
Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S sales all saw “double-digit percentage declines year-on-year” comparing figures up to May. Switch saw the most significant drop in spending, which Circana’s boss and industry analyst Mat Piscatella said could be “partially attributed to the strength of the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in the May 2023 comparable period”. The game was a smash hit for Nintendo, and launched alongside a themed Switch OLED model.
PlayStation 5 was the top selling console in units and dollar sales in May. The console’s unit sales lead those of PlayStation 4 by eight percent.

Cities: Skylines 2’s publisher thinks that players have developed “higher expectations” of games and are also “less accepting” that they’ll be fixed over time. That’s according to Paradox Interactive deputy chief executive officer Mattias Lilja, who spoke to Rock Paper Shotgun about the delay of Prison Architect 2, as well as the cancellation of Life By You, and reception of Cities: Skylines 2. Talking about the former, Lilja says there were “quality issues” – notably “not the same kind of bucket of challenges that we had with Life By You” – which ultimately led to it being pushed back “to give the players the game they deserve” when it launches. It’s more than that, though, as Lilja continues: “It’s also based on the fact that we, in all transparency, see that fans right now, with a squeezed budget for games, have higher expectations, and are less accepting that you will fix things over time. That’s our take. The gaming space has always been the winner-takes-all type of environment. A few games bring in most of the players, and most games are dropped quite quickly, and this is even more pronounced now, [during] maybe the last two years.”Lilja goes on to say that wh…
