Dragon Ball Sparking Zero doesn’t fully release until tomorrow (it’s been available for a couple of days for early access buyers), but fans are already discovering additional DLC that hasn’t been revealed before.First reported by ComicBook, if you had over to Dragon Ball Sparking Zero’s SteamDB page and scroll down, you’ll see a list of ‘Downloadable Content’ for the game, including known expansions like the ‘Anime Music Pack’ that lets you change the music in the game and the ‘Ultimate Upgrade Pack’ that includes cosmetics, emotes, player card backgrounds, and an item “that increases a character’s fighting ability”.However, if you look closely, right in the middle of the list is something called the Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Martial Arts Pack, and that’s the one Bandai Namco has yet to reveal. For that reason, we have no idea what it might include, or even when it’s coming, but it’s confirmation that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero isn’t done getting DLC beyond what’s already been revealed. We know the season pass includes three DLC packs that’ll add more than 20 characters to the already gargantuan fighter roster, so there’s a good chance the Martial Arts Pack will add even more. It’s w…

A spiritual successor to narrative-driven cRPG Disco Elysium, which will let players literally shape the world with the choices they make, is in the works from a new indie studio made of former developers from ZA/UM, Bungie, Rockstar, and Brave at Night. The studio is called Longdue, and its currently-unnamed psychological RPG will be its debut project. As per a press release, it’ll explore “the delicate interplay between the conscious and subconscious, the seen and unseen” in a world where “the lines between the mind and the environment blur,” meaning the landscape is constantly changing and evolving with each decision you make, in a physical, visual, and thematic way.Speaking to GamesRadar+, narrative director Grant Roberts tells us that Longdue’s project is “continuing a legacy” of cRPGs from the last 30 years, following a through line established by “Fallout and Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale,” as well as Disco Elysium, which itself “set the bar very high.” Rather than being daunted by that, however, Roberts thinks that being able to “continue in that legacy and stand alongside something as successful as Disco is really exciting.” This new project isn’t meant to be a compet…

XXX NIGHTSHIFT – A true detective RPG. Dialogue Gameplay Trailer – YouTube

Watch On
A second Disco Elysium spiritual successor has been announced from a different group of developers from ZA/UM.In a remarkable sequence of events, today, Friday, October 11, two separate studios made up of former Disco Elysium developers have been announced, and they’re both working on follow-ups to the acclaimed 2019 RPG. We already covered the first one and interviewed new studio Longdue, so we’re mainly going to be talking about the other new studio, Dark Math Games, and its debut project, XXX Nightshift (stylized XXX NIGHTSHIFT).You can watch the very cryptic three-minute trailer just above, which shows off some decidedly Disco Elysium-esque visuals and centers a conversation between the player character and someone named Rivers Dark. “It was inevitable,” she can be heard whispering at the start. “Why?” you ask. “It’s on,” she replies.Without any contextual clues, it’s hard to decipher much from the conversation, but it goes on for another couple of minutes before we see a partially obscured character resting in a massive bed. “Many chinchilla fur blankets cover the biggest bed you’ve ever w…

Metaphor: ReFantazio is a wildly impressive new JRPG from long-time veteran Persona developers, which is more than enough reason to be excited about it. Released on October 11, 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio is definitely one of the best new games of 2024 and will probably keep you busy for the rest of the year. Announced under a codename in 2016 before its full reveal last year, Metaphor: ReFantazio is a medieval fantasy adventure where players “must fight their own anxiety,” according to Atlus’s description, in a world constantly torn between reality and fantasy. You’re accompanied by companions in a typical Persona-like style, meaning you can expect lots of social sim aspects alongside the squad-based combat. Sounds like the makings of one of the new best JRPGs if you ask us!Here’s everything you need to know about Metaphor: ReFantazio right now, from gameplay to news from the developer and more.Metaphor: ReFantazio newsMetaphor: ReFantazio borrows Persona’s iconic calendar system, but devs say players don’t need to “worry about missing out on activities due to time constraints”Persona veterans’ new JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio bumps a major series staple by excluding romanc…

The Genshin Impact Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device is a boss added in version 5.1. This boss is hard to find and even harder to defeat due to his extremely high resistance, but he does have a hidden weakness. With the right strategy and team, the Secret Source Automaton boss won’t trouble you anymore. This guide will show you how to find the Secret Source Automaton in Genshin Impact and how to defeat him.Secret Source Automaton location in Genshin Impact The Secret Source Automaton boss is found in Genshin Impact’s Natlan region, the ‘nation of fire’ in the southwestern corner of the world map. The exact location of the boss arena is in the Toyac Springs area, not far from the Statue of the Seven. Even if you haven’t found the boss yet, you can already see its icon on the map. Before you start sprinting towards that icon, however, beware that the boss arena is situated in an underwater cave, which means you can only reach it through a secret entrance. To get there, teleport to the waypoint north of the Secret Source Automaton – not the one below ground, but the one above ground. From there, look to the south; see the narrow wooden bridge? …

Concord’s backend files are seemingly still being updated despite its unceremonious, maybe-temporary shutdown.Despite acquiring the developer and reportedly spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the project, publisher PlayStation was quick to pull the plug on its would-be live service contender just two weeks after release. The $40 FPS failed to attract hero shooter fans en masse or court newcomers to support its ambitious post-launch roadmap, which included expensive-smelling weekly animated cutscenes that would flesh out its sci-fi universe.PlayStation then pulled the game from sale and refunded those who bought it, all while developer Firewalk Studios worked to “determine the best path ahead.” It now seems that some progress is being made on whatever comes next for Concord, as the game’s backend files on SteamDB have been updated every day for 11 days straight. There’s no clue as to what exactly is being updated – that’s all under wraps – but the updates have spurred speculation that Concord might not be properly dead. Many guessed that PlayStation would want to recoup some development costs by repackaging Concord as a free-to-play release with all the money-making battle p…

Metaphor: ReFantazio has only been out for a few hours, but it’s already smashed through Persona 5 Royal’s concurrent player record on Steam, and it doesn’t look like it’s slowing down any time soon, either. The enormous new fantasy JRPG from Studio Zero was met with critical acclaim when its reviews went live earlier this week – including from my own Metaphor: ReFantazio review for GamesRadar+, in which I gave the game four and a half stars out of five. It appears that its player count is set to reflect that, because it’s taken no time at all to soar to 38,713 concurrent players on Steam – on a weekday, hours after launch – and surpassing Persona 5 Royal’s all-time peak of 35,474, which it set two days after its release in 2022.Despite coming from the creators of Persona 3, 4, and 5, Metaphor: ReFantazio isn’t a Persona game, although in some ways, it certainly feels like one. Even so, Persona 5 Royal – the definitive edition of Atlus’ 2016 JRPG – has felt like the one to follow. It’s held onto its fanbase tightly for years, and there’s a reason why it’s widely considered to be one of the best JRPGs of all time. Clearly though, Metaphor: ReFantaz…

Forbidden Siren – or just Siren, as it was known stateside – is returning to the PS Plus Premium library, raising hopes that more classic games will return courtesy of a new emulator.
This is not the first time Siren has been released on contemporary consoles. Back in 2016, the 2003 horror developed by original Silent Hill director, Keiichiro Toyama, was upscaled and emulated for the PS4. However, as Push Square reports, it was pulled again with several other PS2 games after players complained about poor emulation and PAL/NTSC compatibility problems.

For all the successful strides that Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom made in reinventing The Legend of Zelda’s tried and true formula, eschewing the franchise’s more linear progression in favor of a thrilling amount of player freedom, the widespread rejection of every franchise convention wasn’t necessarily all for the better. Depending on who you ask, the recent duology is either a brilliant recontextualization of Zelda’s defined tropes, or a total gutting and replacement of what originally made the series appealing (with key iconography and terminologies being carried over). While I’ve personally been excited to see Nintendo follow its new vision for the series with total confidence, the recently released, smaller-scale The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has managed to strike a more idyllic and delicate balance between old and new, capturing the strengths of both the classic and modern Zelda titles in a way that I feel could be hugely beneficial for the series moving forward.A link between past and present  So, what exactly is the distinction between these two different eras of The Legend of Zelda? Since the series’ 1986 debu…
